HMI/SCADA Productivity Pack 2
Targeted for End of June
The second Productivity Pack for our HMI/SCADA customers is being prepared. Productivity Packs are a way that we continue to deliver value to our HMI/SCADA customers that have GlobalCare contracts. In quarters when there is not a major release of one of our HMI/SCADA products, we release a Productivity Pack that contains tools that enhance our existing products.
Productivity Pack 2 will deliver powerful notification capabilities to our customers. Their ability to receive critical information regarding their systems at any time and anywhere is more important than ever. We have created Alarm Express, an email alarm notification tool that works with CIMPLICITY®, iFIX® and ME View.
We’ve also validated integrated support for Win-911* for our iFIX product, allowing alarms to be sent to paging devices and phones, similar to the Pager option that exists for CIMPLICITY. While Win-911 has supported iFIX for many years, an iFIX Embedded ActiveX control for managing Win-911 setup and maintenance of the system makes this even easier than before. And, the Win-911 solution has been quality-tested by our engineers to make sure it is a reliable offering to extend iFIX applications.
iFIX customers will also be delighted with a new block type we’ve created for the product. The Persistent Array Block will allow customers to setup and store up to 60 values per block that can then be referenced in their applications. Now, customers will have a very convenient way to store application or site variables in one place, for use throughout an application.
Productivity Packs are available for download from the GlobalCare Support Site
Stay Tuned to the Support site for the release of Productivity Pack 2.

iFIX and iPower Integrate to Form a Complete Electric Distribution SCADA Solution
Customer Success: Dakota Electric Association
In order to serve its growing population, Dakota Electric Association (DEA) needed to upgrade its obsolete SCADA master station, the most critical real-time system in the business, which serves as the central monitoring and control system used by the electric company to operate its electricity network.
DEA turned to Catapult Software, a company that extends and supports GE Fanuc Proficy™ HMI/SCADA iFIX for use as a robust HMI/SCADA solution in order to provide visualization, data acquisition and supervisory control of operations in the electric transmission and distribution industry. Catapult's product extenstions are called iPower.
The results for DEA have been clear - implementing iPower for iFIX delivers more reliable service and fewer outages, and when there is an outage, it is shorter in duration.

Region of Niagara chooses Longwatch with iFix 4.0 to monitor Remote Sites by using of Existing Data Network to Reduces Cost and Risk
Cost-Effective Solution
Smarter and Faster Alarm Verification in iFix
Cost Savings and False Alarms
Powerful Tool for Security and Operations Management
The Longwatch Surveillance System is considered the most cost-effective solution because it operates over the existing communications infrastructure and SCADA system at site. The full motion video is delivered through the same communication channel, a low badwidth network, and is displayed on the same monitor as the iFix SCADA alarm system. This integration provides a single reference point for viewing numerous remote locations — increasing response speed and accuracy.
